The short version: Arduu has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email address, or other contact information. Your game progress stays in your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand site visits and a few basic gameplay actions, and we accept optional anonymous puzzle ratings. We do not use this information for advertising.

What stays on your device

Your game progress (which boards you've played, your results, and the words you've collected) is saved only in your own browser, using localStorage. It never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data clears it. We can't see it.

What our server sees

• When you play, your browser asks our server for the next board. That's an ordinary web request; we don't attach any identity to it.
• If you tap a rating on a board (👍/👎 or a difficulty), we store that anonymous rating (just the board and the rating) to help us improve the puzzles. It isn't linked to you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use Arduu. It records ordinary website measurements such as page views, sessions, approximate location, referring site, browser, device category, language, and screen size. We also send these limited game events:

• a game starting;
• a game ending, including whether it was won or lost, the number of mistakes, and the public board number; and
• a successful use of the share button, including whether the browser's share feature or clipboard was used.

We do not send board words, answers, group labels, tile selections, your saved progress, or your feedback choices to Google Analytics. We do not set a custom user ID or combine analytics with an Arduu account. Arduu has no accounts.

Analytics cookies and Google

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, including cookies commonly named _ga and _ga_<container-id>, to distinguish browsers and sessions. Google processes the analytics information on our behalf. We have disabled Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals in the Arduu tag, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising or remarketing.

You can prevent these measurements by blocking or clearing cookies in your browser, using a content-blocking tool, or installing Google's Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.

How we use and retain information

We use aggregate analytics to understand audience size, traffic sources, game completion, win/loss rates, and sharing, and to improve Arduu. Google Analytics retains event-level data according to the retention period configured for our Analytics property. Aggregate reports may remain available longer. Anonymous puzzle ratings are retained in our Cloudflare database for product improvement.

Children

Arduu is suitable for a general audience. It has no accounts and does not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. The analytics and anonymous-feedback practices described above apply to visitors generally.

Changes

On 26 July 2026, we updated this policy to disclose the addition of Google Analytics, analytics cookies, and limited gameplay-event measurement. If our practices change again, we'll update this page and the date above.
